I don’t just take a photo.

I wanted to share a bit more about this photo I took. Getting a good shot was tricky.

The sun was back lighting the house from the left, which made it hard to get the lighting right, and since it was this time of year, the sun was setting pretty low in the sky.

When I took the photo, my goal was to show what you can do with just one single frame.

A lot of photographers might take several photos at 2/stop exposures and then blend them to make a balanced, bright image, called an HDR photo. I wanted to see if I could get a nice result without doing that.

Also, you can see that I changed the sky in the final image. The sky that day wasn’t showing off the house the way I wanted, so I picked a better one, shot by me.
